  • How much does a solar shield cost?
    We charge: $99 each for a solar shield Any Size. Any Color. Any Grade. *$150 each for Colonials | Seabreeze. The average retail solar screen costs $300 per window, including labor. Most homeowners pay between $120 and $480 per window, including service fees.   • How long do my solar shields and the warranty last?
    LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY How long will my solar shields last? Our Solar Shields are warranted for as long as you live in your home. However, 20-30 years is a realistic life expectancy.
  • Are Solar Shields Tax Deductible?
    Yes, Just keep your receipt. The federal government issued a federal tax credit for products that increase energy efficiency. The tax credit is for 30% of the window covering purchase up to $1500. Please speak with your tax advisor to see if this tax credit applies to you. You can claim a tax credit for 10% of the cost of and qualified energy efficiency improvements and 100% of residential energy property costs.     The higher grade screens will prevent nearly a third of the suns natural light from entering your home.
  • Which is better solar shields or window tinting?
    When strictly comparing which is better for heat reduction in the home, Solar Shields are hands down the far superior choice. Window tint or film can be completely invisible while providing some minimal energy efficiency improvements and can also be easily damaged, meaning another price to replace.
  • What is a solar shield made of?
    Soltexâ„¢ Shield textile is made of PVC-coated polyester and specifically engineered to reduce the heat transfer that happens through windows. A form of sun control, compared to window tinting, solar screens are far more efficient as well as effective in both shading and protection. It is rolled into a heat treated hollow aluminum frame, designed to absorb and distribute the suns heat evenly away from the home.
  • What is the quality of the shields?

  • How long from measure to install?
    Measure + Install should take 1 hour or less with a 7 working day turnaround for contract completion.
  • How do I service my solar shields?
    We will come and service your screens for $22 per screen. *please note we are not a window cleaning service. With a light flow use water hose (not a pressure washer) with the screen in place. Then apply dish soap or mild detergent. then rinse 1 to 2 times per year.
  • Do you clean my windows before install?
    We Can. You must have your windows cleaned and areas surrounding the windows decluttered at least 24 hours prior to install. You can use our Screen Care Service ask your screen technician for the service and see if you are eligible for the New Customer Discount.
  • Are there any extra fees?
    Just the cost of the solar shields and sales tax.
  • Do solar shields block airflow?
    Window screens can block airflow by somewhere between 40% and 60%.
  • Why is a 50% Deposit required for a Free Measure + Install appointment?
    We offer a Free Measure + Install service, however the appointment is not free. We require a 50% deposit at the Measure date and time as noted in our Terms and Conditions policy. The deposit is then held while your custom screens are made. At the date and time of Install you are to pay the remaining 50% + Sales Tax before your screens are installed. *we will show you our samples and make sure you're satisfied with the quality of our product before we take a deposit and measure your windows.
